 University of the Visual and Performing Arts


I am now studying at the University of the visual and performing Arts👩‍🎓. I am studying in the first year of the Faculty of Music. University background The University of visual and performing arts which was upgraded to full university status by Gazette No. 24/1400 on 07/08/2005, It is in four faculties and in to the department it. our University  chancellor is professor Sangeet Nipun Sanath Nandasiri and the vice chancellor is senior professor Rohana. P. Mr. Mahalianarachchi.

      Our university is located near Nelum Pokuna Theater and Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo. The address of our university is University of the visual and performing arts , No. 21, Albert Chandravankaya, Colombo 07. The telephone number is 0112033710. The website is www.vpa.ac.lk. This is a world recognized university., Our university has a group of students who study art, dance, music and theater... and there is a group of people who show skills and talents in each field. 

     The three faculty in the our university. It's are; 

  1. Faculty of Music 
  2. Faculty of Dance and Drama
  3. Faculty of Visual Arts 

      



Dr. Saman Panapitiya is the dean of the faculty of music in our university. It consists of six departments.

  • Department of North Indian.
  • Department of South Indian.
  • Department of western.
  • Department of applied and mass communication.
  • Department of Musicology.
  • Department of Ethnomusicology.
The dean of the Faculty of Visual Arts in our university is Dr. M.H. Jagath. It consists of nine departments. 

  • Department of Art 
  •  Department of Sculpture 
  • Department of Visual communication plans 
  • Department of  Multidisciplinary design plans 
  •  Department of Printing Arts 
  • Department of Textiles and Garments 
  •  department of Ceramic 
  •  Department of History and Theory of Art

Dr. Indika Fernandes is the Dean of the Faculty of Dance and Drama. This faculty consists of seven departments.

  • Department of Percussive music
  • Department of Indian and Asian dances 
  • Department of Drama, drama and modern dance

My first job💖

      My First Occupation ✨❤      I got a job for the first time in my life in 2021. It was as a teacher in a primary(pre) school❤😍. My best friend gave me that chance. Until, I got the results of the Advanced Level examination, I love to teach children and i interest this.. They are  beautiful and cute childrens🧚.. just like flowers🌹.      I teached them songs, how to paint, learned to dance, learned letters. They are learning with great passion. I feel love when those children call me "Chuuti teacher"🤭 I got a lot of experience there. I did not feel lonely or lonely while spending time with the children❤. I wear a saree at seven in the morning on weekdays and go to school. I liked it a lot😋. I had never worn a saree before. I bought a lot of new sarees.      MY FAVOURITE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT 💖 My Favourite musical instrument is 🎻 the violin. The violin, sometimes known as a fiddle, is a wooden chordophone in the violin family. Most violins have a hollow wooden body. It is the smallest and thus highest-pitched instrument in the family in regular use. Strings From high to low, the strings on the violin are  E, A, D, and G . They are made from a variety of materials including catgut (sheep intestine), nylon, and steel.
